Search Engine Optimisation is a very loosely used term. People use it when referring to many things. Perhaps they intend to fix your meta tags, (see Will you fix my meta tags?), perhaps they will get you some links (see I'm thinking to use a company in India to gather links). Perhaps they will change your content, fix your html, this term is used to describe any number of things.

We used to describe our work, as search engine optimisation but since its describes a TASK rather than a RESULT we no longer call what we do as search engine optimisation.

Many of the tasks we do in order to gain our clients page one rankings on Google can be described as search engine optimisation, but we will never charge you for what we do – we only charge or what we ACHIEVE for you.
