Getting a banned Google Adwords account unsuspended? Is this Possible?
With AdWords being so important to many businesses and with so much competition between AdWords service providers competing to set up the most effective campaigns it is not surprising that in battling for the top position in Google AdWords there are some casualties. If your business has its sales heavily tied to Google AdWords traffic it can be devastating to receive an e-mail from Google saying your AdWords campaign is in breach of their terms of service and has been suspended until you fix it. Even more distressing is that nail in the coffin of your business when you receive the e-mail to say your website has been permanently banned from AdWords.
Permanently banned. WoW. You can never run an AdWords campaign again. Not this business, not this website, and not t any other website you may set up. Google keeps records of your name, your address, your credit card details, the IP addresses you have logged in from, your Internet server provider details, your computers MAC address – they even drop difficult to remove cookies on your computer to ensure that you are not setting up new AdWords campaign is to circumvent the ban.
There are ways and means around the ban for some people. A completely new website a completely new computer a completely new name on the person setting up the account and credit card. By completely new website I mean completely new. A new domain name, a new design, and totally rewritten content. Going to these lengths to recover a banned AdWords account is going to be extremely expensive, time-consuming, and the whole time that is happening you are getting no sales. Of course once you have your new website set up unless you have solved the problem of why you got banned is very likely that after all this effort you'll get banned again.
Google is often very cryptic about the reasons you are banned in the first place. They are not going to tell you it's because of this problem on this page of your website. They just don't do it, they want you to read their rules, the Adwords terms of service and work it out yourself. These rules are long and open to interpretation so you may find yourself looking your website over and over and not finding the problem.
If you've been banned from Google AdWords the SEOguys can help you. But let me first say this. We are only going to do so within the rules as allowed by Google. We will not try and trick Google, will not try to get around their terms of service. We will bring a website back into compliance with their terms of service and in detail these fixes and improvements and go through an appeal process with Google to get your permanently banned AdWords account reinstated. No tricks, not new websites, accounts or trying to get around their TOS.
How is this possible you say? The e-mail I got from Google says that that I have been permanently banned from Google AdWords. Isn't permanently like… forever? As it turns out – no its not.
Look, Google takes no chances with its AdWords advertisers. They have an algorithm which checks your website for breaches of its terms of service and people who check your website manually for problems. If multiple checks continue to show your site is in breach they eventually reach the conclusion that there is no way you can bring your side back into compliance and that the only way for them to address these breaches is a permanent ban.
But they are not unreasonable. We have now overturned the “permanent ban “applied by Google to the AdWords accounts of three clients this year . In all cases the ban was the result of an overzealous “certified AdWords consultant”(not us!) who was more interested in setting up a campaign that would generate lots of sales without bothering to ensure the wording of the ads or the content on the site was Google AdWords terms of service compliant.
These clients now not only had their AdWords account is back, they can go about the operation of their business without fear that at any moment they will get caught by Google operating a new AdWords account even though they had been banned from holding one. They can go about their business without fear that the problem that got them banned from Google AdWords in the first place is still in existence. They can do all this without having to go to the huge expense and inconvenience of setting up a new website with new content, a new account and a new name with a different credit card etc,
Google AdWords account ban need not be forever. Google is not unreasonable.
